Cynthia is from Macon and came to Athens as a freshman at University of Georgia’s College of Business Administration. After receiving her degree in economics, she remained in Athens and married a native Athenian. Cynthia has a background in finance, risk management and medical administration. She is a member of Medical Group Management Association. In 2005 Cynthia joined Dr. Megdal and helped in setting up Athens Spine Center which opened February 2006.
Cynthia is actively involved with her church and teaches adult Bible classes. She is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with her family, especially as “YahYah,” the grandmother.
Lisa, originally from Monroe, GA, settled in Lexington, GA where she raises and trains horses and sells horse shoes and equipment. After Lisa received her BSN degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing, she began working at St. Mary’s Hospital. Positions during her tenure of over two decades at St. Mary’s Hospital include Charge Nurse for Labor and Delivery, the Endoscopy Unit, and the Surgery Department where she was in charge of the Short Stay Preop Unit.
For leisure, Lisa enjoys riding and showing horses in barrel racing events almost every weekend all over the state. She has one granddaughter.
Angela is a native Athenian. She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where she was a Hope Scholar and on the Dean’s list. Angela completed her boards in summer of 2007 as a Registered Professional Nurse. Her experience includes a position in Neuroscience/Orthopedics at the University Hospital in Augusta and clinicals in the Neuroscience Unit at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Angela and her husband, Russ, enjoy riding on “tandy” – the vintage tandem bicycle, which they restored together.
Ginn lived in Athens during middle school and college, and returned to Athens in 2002. She has lived in a variety of Georgia towns: Locust Grove, Sharpsburg, Valdosta, Augusta, Rome and Royston, as well as Centerville, VA, and Columbia, MD. Ginn received her BSN RN from Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing and had her clinical training at Medical College of Georgia. Her experience includes the Family Birth Center and Radiology Department at St. Mary’s Hospital and Pediatric Oncology at Innova Fairfax Falls Church Pediatric Hospital.
Ginn’s husband is a pilot with Delta Air Lines, and they have two children. Family is a priority for Ginn, and she enjoys gardening, traveling and church activities.
Amy was born in Decatur, Georgia, and has lived in Lawrenceville, Atlanta and Texas before settling in Jefferson in 1996. She received her BSN RN degree from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing and is currently enrolled at Brenau University working toward a Master’s Degree as Nurse Practitioner. Her experience includes Operating Room Circulator, Patient Care Coordinator in Plastic Surgery and Patient Navigator as Breast Health Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. She is a member of Oncology Nursing Society and served as the Athens Chapter’s Secretary from 2007-2010.
Amy’s husband works at AT&T, and they have two children. Her interests include photography, interior decorating, antique shopping and genealogy.
Rachel is originally from Plano, Texas, and has lived in North Carolina, Atlanta, Athens, and now lives in Watkinsville. She has a BA in Psychology and a BA in French both from the University of Georgia, and an Associates Nursing Degree from Athens Tech. Prior to her position with Athens Spine, Rachel worked in the ARMC Emergency Dept. and in Plastic Surgery in Athens.
Rachel’s husband is a self-employed landscaper, and they have three children: two sons and a daughter. Their daughter is the youngest and is adopted from China. Rachel serves as an advisor for Chi Omega at UGA and works with the middle school at Oconee Presbyterian Church.
Patty was born in New York and moved to Athens when she was five. Her family is from Peru and she is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. She graduated from Athens Tech with honors, on the President’s list and was president of her class. She performed her clinical training both at Athens Regional and St. Mary’s Hospitals, the Urology Clinic and other surrounding hospitals. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Nu Radiology Honor Society, American Society Radiologic Technologists and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
Patty and her husband, Dean, also a Radiology Technologist, have one son, Jackson.
Renee is originally from Jesup, Georgia, and has lived in Statesboro, Birmingham and Fort Worth before locating in Athens in 2007. She received her Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology at Brunswick Junior College in Brunswick, Georgia. She is a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Her experience includes over a decade in technical positions and five years as a clinical instructor.
Renee’s husband is self-employed and they have twin daughters. She and her family are members of Grace Fellowship and are very involved. Renee’s recreational activities including hunting, photography, cooking/baking, and decorating.
David was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and grew up in Atlanta. He received a degree in ministry from Atlanta Christian College and attended graduate seminary in Tennessee. He has worked in customer service and data processing with financial institutions, electronic databases with the University System of Georgia and medical billing with a billing service. He is a Certified Professional Coder.
He is actively involved in ministries with his church and spends most of his leisure time with his wife, Della, and daughters, Samantha and Melissa, and four grandchildren.
Donna was born in Athens and has lived here all her life. She attended Truitt McConnell College and has continued her education through online courses relating to medical administration. She has extensive experience in customer service and administration in the utility field. She has also worked in a dental business office. Donna has tremendous organization skills that enabled her to provide a service through her own enterprise, Happy Closet. She is a member of the Pilot Club of Madison County.
Donna enjoys water sports, reading, photography, decorating, flower arranging and playing with her grandchildren.
Teresa was born in Oconee, South Carolina, grew up in Oconee County (Georgia) and lived in the Athens area. For the past decade she has lived in Madison County. Teresa is working on a degree in Radiography at Athens Tech. Her experience includes financial positions in offices.
Teresa’s husband works with the Athens Clarke County Police Department, and they have two children. She is proud of her son who is a US Marine, and her daughter who is majoring in Early Childhood Development. Teresa enjoys spending time with God and singing in the church choir.
Helen is a native of Florida, born in Ft Lauderdale and lived also in Tampa. She attended Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale in the paramedic program. Helen moved to the Athens area in 1982. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a pharmacy tech prior to working in the business office of a urology practice here in Athens for over 24 years.
Helen’s husband, Steve, is a pharmacist at St. Mary’s Hospital. They have two daughters who both live in Athens. Recreational activities for Helen include tennis and exercising and areas of interest include knitting, gardening and Sudoku.
