
William H. Megdal, M.D.
Born in Rochester, PA, Dr. Megdal received his Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southern University and completed additional pre-med curriculum at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Georgia. He received his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed an internship and residency in anesthesiology at West Virginia University Hospital.
Dr. Megdal joined the Anesthesia Consultants of Athens as an anesthesiologist and practiced at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 20 years. In 2005, he and his family moved to Burlington, Vermont to participate in fellowship training in Pain Medicine at the Medical College of Vermont. After completing of the fellowship, Dr. Megdal returned to Athens to open a private practice in interventional pain medicine – Athens Spine Center.
Dr. Megdal is board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology and also board certified in the Subspecialty of Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society and the International Spine Intervention Society.
He and his wife, Joni, have three daughters. They are active members at the Athens Church. He enjoys gardening, exercise, running/jogging, and reading.

Dr. McCurdy was born in Columbia, SC, and grew up in Macon, GA. He graduated summa cum laude with a BS degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia. He also completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology at Medical College of Georgia and served as Anesthesiology Chief Resident prior to entering the Pain Management Fellowship. His fellowship was completed in June 2008 and he joined Athens Spine Center in August.
Dr. McCurdy is board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, American Pain Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Anesthesiology and Georgia Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. McCurdy served as a volunteer for the annual Children’s Medical Center’s Family Fitness for Fun Run and 5K. He also participates with medical missions.
His wife, Lacy, is a pediatric physician. They have two children. He enjoys playing golf, exercising, reading and spending time with his family.
