Cynthia Dickerson, B.B.A.
Cynthia is from Macon and came to Athens as a freshman at University of Georgia’s College of Business Administration. After receiving her degree in economics, she remained in Athens and married a native Athenian. Cynthia has a background in finance, risk management and medical administration. She is a member of Medical Group Management Association. In 2005 Cynthia joined Dr. Megdal and helped in setting up Athens Spine Center which opened February 2006.
Cynthia is actively involved with her church and teaches adult Bible classes. She is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with her family, especially as “YahYah,” the grandmother.
Peter VanDyck, Jr., B.A.
Peter was born in Augusta, GA. He lived in Hattiesburg, MS before settling in Athens. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology and History. Prior to accepting the position with Athens Spine Center, Peter was the Assistant Manager at an endocrinology and diabetes practice in Athens.
Peter lives in Athens with his wife who is employed as the Foundation Manager of The Classic Center. He enjoys various recreational activities such as swimming, running, playing soccer, scuba diving, and traveling. Peter is also an avid reader of science fiction and historical novels.
Lisa Brady, R.N. B.S.N.
Lisa, originally from Monroe, GA, settled in Lexington, GA where she raises and trains horses and sells horse shoes and equipment. After Lisa received her BSN degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing, she began working at St. Mary’s Hospital. Positions during her tenure of over two decades at St. Mary’s Hospital include Charge Nurse for Labor and Delivery, the Endoscopy Unit, and the Surgery Department where she was in charge of the Short Stay Preop Unit.
For leisure, Lisa enjoys riding and showing horses in barrel racing events almost every weekend all over the state. She has one granddaughter.
Angela Harcourt, R.N., B.S.N.
Angela is a native Athenian. She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where she was a Hope Scholar and on the Dean’s list. Angela completed her boards in summer of 2007 as a Registered Professional Nurse. Her experience includes a position in Neuroscience/Orthopedics at the University Hospital in Augusta and clinicals in the Neuroscience Unit at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Angela and her husband, Russ, enjoy riding on “tandy” – the vintage tandem bicycle, which they restored together.
Ginn Holder, R.N., B.S.N.
Ginn lived in Athens during middle school and college, and returned to Athens in 2002. She has lived in a variety of Georgia towns: Locust Grove, Sharpsburg, Valdosta, Augusta, Rome and Royston, as well as Centerville, VA, and Columbia, MD. Ginn received her BSN RN from Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing and had her clinical training at Medical College of Georgia. Her experience includes the Family Birth Center and Radiology Department at St. Mary’s Hospital and Pediatric Oncology at Innova Fairfax Falls Church Pediatric Hospital.
Ginn’s husband is a pilot with Delta Air Lines, and they have two children. Family is a priority for Ginn, and she enjoys gardening, traveling and church activities.
Rachel Chance, R.N.
Rachel is originally from Plano, Texas, and has lived in North Carolina, Atlanta, Athens, and now lives in Watkinsville. She has a BA in Psychology and a BA in French both from the University of Georgia, and an Associates Nursing Degree from Athens Tech. Prior to her position with Athens Spine, Rachel worked in the ARMC Emergency Dept. and in Plastic Surgery in Athens.
Rachel’s husband is a self-employed landscaper, and they have three children: two sons and a daughter. Their daughter is the youngest and is adopted from China. Rachel serves as an advisor for Chi Omega at UGA and works with the middle school at Oconee Presbyterian Church.
Lori Wilfong, R.N., B.S.N.
Lori was born and raised right here in Athens. She earned her BSN from The Medical College of Georgia in 1996. Her professional background includes being a hospital staff nurse in the urology and orthopedic surgical units. Lori also worked as a PACU nurse in a urology outpatient surgical center. She is a member of the Governance Council at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Lori lives in Athens with her husband and three sons. Her activities and interests include horseback riding, fishing, dirt bike riding, and gardening. She enjoys raising her three boys as well as teaching the young children at her church. She and her husband have a special place in their hearts and are involved in a personal outreach ministry for orphaned children.
Natalie Hudgens, R.N., B.S.N.
Natalie is from Lenoir, NC and received her BSN in nursing from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She began working at a hospital during summers while getting her degree. Her professional experience as an RN has been with a pediatric hospital and a plastic and reconstructive surgery center.
Natalie relocated to Georgia four years ago and currently lives in Hoschton, GA with her husband. They are members at the Colliers United Methodist Church. When Natalie has free time, she enjoys spending it with her family, shopping, gardening, and traveling when she can.
Karen Watson, R.N., CCM
Karen is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and currently resides in Monroe, Georgia. She graduated with a nursing degree at the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. Her experience has been in Geriatric Care Management and an orthopedic spine surgical practice in Atlanta.
Karen lives in Monroe with her husband. They have a daughter who lives in Atlanta and a son who lives in Loganville. Karen enjoys gardening, kayaking, biking, hiking and traveling. She is active in her church and has participated in mission work in Nicaragua. She currently volunteers service at the Mercy Health Center in Athens.
Ansley McKnight, R.N., B.S.N.
Ansley was born in Atlanta, GA, and has lived in Marietta, Milledgeville, and Rome. She graduated from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA with a RN-BSN degree. Her prior experience was in the pulmonary unit of Emory’s Residency Program and in the orthopedic unit/center for joint replacement at Floyd Medical Center. She is a member of the American Nurses Association.
Ansley lives in Athens with her husband. She enjoys recreational activities such as running, yoga, golf, and hiking. In her spare time, she likes to read and cook/bake. She is a member of the Young Life Committee.
Renee Clark, RT-R-M
Renee is originally from Jesup, Georgia, and has lived in Statesboro, Birmingham and Fort Worth before locating in Athens in 2007. She received her Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology at Brunswick Junior College in Brunswick, Georgia. She is a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Her experience includes over a decade in technical positions and five years as a clinical instructor.
Renee’s husband is self-employed and they have twin daughters. She and her family are members of Grace Fellowship and are very involved. Renee’s recreational activities including hunting, photography, cooking/baking, and decorating.
Lauren Morris, BS, RT-R
Lauren is from Tignall before settling in Athens in 2008. She earned her Associate Degree in Radiography from Athens Technical College and her BS in Imaging from Emory University. She received clinical training Athens Regional Medical Center, St. Mary’s Hospital, John’s Creek Diagnostic Center, and Emory University. She has professional experience as an RT in both a hospital and orthopedic clinic setting. She is a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Lauren is married to Josh and enjoys running, playing outside with her dog, Lucy, participating in church activities, reading, shopping, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Kimberly Shapiro, RT-R
Kimberly is a native Athenian. She received her Associates in Applied Science Degree from Athens Technical College. Prior to joining ASC, she worked as a Radiographer in a hospital setting. She is a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Kimberly lives in Athens with her husband who is also a Radiographer. She is an avid animal lover and volunteers at the Athens Area Humane Society. She specializes in socializing cats in preparation for adoption into permanent homes. In her leisure time, Kimberly enjoys playing with her dogs, hiking, cooking, reading, watching TV, and traveling. Included in her travel experiences is a trip to a South African sanctuary to study and document chimpanzee behavior.
Krista Estes, B.S.D., RT(R)(ARRT)
Krista is from Lilburn, GA and has lived in Brookhaven, GA. She graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. She graduated from Gwinnett Technical College with an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology. Her clinical training and professional experience included positions as an RT and CT Coordinator at several hospitals in the Atlanta area. Krista is an active member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Krista lives in Jefferson with her husband and two daughters. She spends most of her summers at the lake with her family where they enjoy riding jet skis. Her interests include reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Susan Kasay, B.S., RT(R)(M)(ARRT)
Susan was born in Aiken, SC and raised in Calhoun, Ga. She has also lived in Connecticut, Dallas, TX, and Atlanta, GA. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising and received an Associate Degree in Radiography from Athens Technical College. Her clinical training is in radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, and bone densitometry and has prior experience in a hospital setting. She is certified and an active member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Susan lives in Athens with her husband who is a retired UGA football coach. They have two children who are both UGA graduates as well. She enjoys running, dancing, reading, spending time with family and friends, and cheering for the UGA Bulldogs. Fun Fact: Susan was a majorette with the UGA Redcoat Marching Band!
Stacy Nickerson, MLT
Stacy was born in Gainesville, GA. She has lived in Flowery Branch, Banks County, and Jackson County before moving to Franklin County. Stacy received a Certification of Medical Laboratory Technician from Lanier Technical College. Her clinical training was in EKG’s, Labs, Xrays, and Quality Assurance and Control. Additional clinical training includes Radiation Safety from UGA, Breath Alcohol Technician, and Department of Transportation Certification. Stacy is a member of the American Association of Bioanalysts.
Stacy lives with her husband, and two children. Stacy’s interests include gardening and home restoration. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and camping.
Front Office Manager
Carole was born in Canada and grew up in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She has also lived in NY, MD, and NC before settling in Athens, GA in 2001. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing/Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Her professional experience includes client relations/office management in the telecom, garment, hospice, and plastic surgery fields.
Carole lives in Athens with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. She loves animals and is a member of several rescue organizations. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking with her dogs, cooking, and traveling.
Patient Accounts Specialist
Teresa was born in Oconee, South Carolina, grew up in Oconee County (Georgia) and lived in the Athens area. For the past decade she has lived in Madison County. Teresa is working on a degree in Radiography at Athens Tech. Her experience includes financial positions in offices.
Teresa’s husband works with the Athens Clarke County Police Department, and they have two children. She is proud of her son who is a US Marine, and her daughter who is majoring in Early Childhood Development. Teresa enjoys spending time with God and singing in the church choir.
Penny was born in Athens, GA and has lived in Oconee County, coastal North Carolina, and the Tennessee Valley before moving back to Athens in 2014. Her professional experience includes administrative, customer service and organizational support, and hospitality roles in both a church and real estate setting.
Penny and her husband, a former United States Marine, live in Oconee County with their five children ranging in age from 3 to 14 years old. She enjoys serving at her local church and sharing fellowship with others. For recreation, Penny enjoys swimming and walking. She also likes sewing, decorating, photography, and crafting.
Helen is a native of Florida, born in Ft Lauderdale and lived also in Tampa. She attended Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale in the paramedic program. Helen moved to the Athens area in 1982. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a pharmacy tech prior to working in the business office of a urology practice here in Athens for over 24 years.
Helen’s husband, Steve, is a pharmacist at St. Mary’s Hospital. They have two daughters who both live in Athens. Recreational activities for Helen include tennis and exercising and areas of interest include knitting, gardening and Sudoku.
Tiffany is originally from Cocoa Beach/Merritt Island, Florida. She relocated to Maysville in 1989 and has lived in Georgia ever since. Her professional experience includes working in retail sales and management. Her experience with patient coordination/administration in healthcare has included hospital, diagnostic center, and medical practice settings.
Tiffany currently lives in Banks County with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys activities with her family, attending her sons’ sporting events, working out, and shopping. She has a charitable heart and freely gives her time and support to others.
Lauren Lamb, B.A.
Lauren is from Atlanta, GA and lives in Athens. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. Lauren began her career in the medical field by selling prosthetic devices. She transitioned to healthcare administration and insurance in a position with a prosthetic device distributor.
Lauren takes advantage of the varied cultural and culinary features of Athens. She enjoys trying new restaurants and seeing live music. She loves joining her friends at UGA football games to support the Dawgs. Other interests include spending time with family and friends, exercising, spending time outdoors and watching reality TV shows.
Healthcare Information Specialist
Rhonda is from Commerce, GA and has lived in Buford, Athens, and Lavonia. She graduated from Commerce High School and attended Tri County Technical College in Pendleton, SC with a major in business. Rhonda has over two decades of experience in the medical field. Her prior experience was at a family medical practice in Royston, GA and an internal medicine practice in Athens.
Rhonda lives in Maysville with her husband and her dog, Chloe. She enjoys recreational activities such as swimming and playing volleyball. Rhonda’s interests also include reading, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. She is an active member of the Maysville Baptist Church.

Donna was a valued member of the Athens Spine Center family, who worked with us from March 28, 2007, until the time of her passing September 9, 2013.
